Kovu! Kovu Kovu Kovu Kovu KOOOOOVUUUUU!



Yeah, I drew Kovu. And I can hear you guys now: "Where's his scar? I'm pretty sure that side has the scar." Well, I'll tell ya!

My argument is as follows:

First of all, if Zira took a swipe at him sideways, like she did, the scar would be sideways or he'd be missing his eye.
Then, if he scarred so easily, why wouldn't he be covered with scars from training with the lionesses?
And even if he did magically get an up and down cut, it's very possible that it could have healed. I say it healed.
Finally, it's a dumb excuse to make him look more like Scar. And as Nuka put it, "Scar wasn't even his father. He just took him in."
So I'm not drawing a scar on Kovu.
*BONUS ARGUMENT* His name means scar. Isn't that enough?

So back to the drawing. This one is one of my favorites so far. I filled out his mane to make him look more mature. And I know the drawing itself is a little wonky, but I'm rather proud of this one.

The story goes that when Simba got old he stepped down to live his twilight years without the "pressures of ruling the kingdom" >u< and he let Kovu take over. Kovu was apprehensive, but with Kiara and Simba encouraging him, he ascended Pride Rock and roared to announce his new status as king. It was a stormy day, but when the young king roared, the clouds parted and the sun began to shine on the new rule.
